New Yorker cartoonist & visual journalist Liza Donnelly “Humor is Key to Our Survival”

August 8, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Illustration Institute and Friends of the Peaks Island Library present an evening with award winning New Yorker cartoonist & visual journalist Liza Donnelly “Humor is Key to Our Survival”

A rare opportunity to get a sneak peek into the world of cartooning with master cartoonist, Liza Donnelly. Forty years at the New Yorker, Liza will discuss her path, her work there now, and how it has evolved.

Passionate about political cartoons as well, Liza will share what it’s like drawing in this time of polarization, working for CBS News, and how it has led her to discover a new form of visual journalism she pioneered called Live-Drawing.

Humor is key to our survival, and Liza’s talk will help uncover why this is true.
