Join Artist Tory Millar at TEIA in portrait drawing of the head using both pencil and pastels. This class is for people who have some experience drawing head portraits and would like to learn how to draw all facial views (face on, 3/4 and profile) of the head. The morning portion of the class will concentrate on drawing a person’s portrait emphasizing eye color, lips, complexion, hair, and the proportional relationships of the features of the face including the neck and upper shoulders. The afternoon portion of the class will focus on layering skin tones, casting shadows, and emphasizing highlights using pastels. Participants in this workshop do not need experience using pastels. Please bring a large color photo of a person’s head to draw and/or a mirror to do a self-portrait. Pencils, erasers, chalk pastels and pastel paper is provided.
