DESCRIPTION:YES! Peaks Island Ski and Board Club (PISC) is running its annual six (6) Wednesday afternoon skiing and boarding at Pleasant Mountain (formerly known as Shawnee Peak). Please join us for six Wednesdays at Pleasant Mountain starting JANUARY 7th.  \nWhat We Are: We are a volunteer club that is about getting our island kids and families\, our community\, recreating together outside\, rain or shine\, during the winter. We are NOT a commercial service; instead\, we operate from the good work of lots of volunteers. We want our kids exercising together OUTSIDE even on the bad days. We operate every Wednesday that Pleasant Mountain’s lifts are operating.  \nYou need to drive or arrange both for your skier ‘n boarders transport to Pleasant AND for a responsible adult while at Pleasant. If you are in need of high levels of personal service\, we recommend you contact your local ski area’s professionals. We will presume that you’ll willingly cooperate with our PI Ski & Board Club community guidelines and practices and with Pleasant Mountain’s group program. If you have questions\, please contact any one of us listed below.  \nWho and How Much: Any and all kids and their families that live on or associated with our island communities are welcome to join us up at Pleasant Mountain. Our program is for six (6) Wednesday afternoons. Pleasant Mountain would like payment via their website\, and we will provide the code once you submit your waiver form.  \nThose costs this year: $180 per each child or parent using the lifts or slopes for 6 Wednesday lift tickets\, OR $360 for 6 lift tickets and 6 90 minute lessons\, OR $336 for 6 lift tickets and 6 equipment rentals\, OR $516 for 6 lift tickets\, 6 lessons\, and 6 rentals. This year\, they are also offering a “Refresher Lesson” on your first visit for $30\, so you don’t have to commit to six lessons.  \nSki lessons run for six (6) weeks\, each lesson is 90 minutes long\, starting at 3:15 pm\, ending around 4:45 pm. Instructors are kid-trained and friendly.  \nPaperwork Required: All adult and child skiing/boarding participants must sign and return TO ANDY JACKSON (65 Sterling St\, Peaks Island 04108) a FULLY COMPLETED – by both a parent/guardian\, and by child “PISC Waiver and Release” AND complete the registration form online at Pleasant Mountain’s website. [We will provide the link upon receipt of the waiver form.] **The paperwork is due by Dec. 1\, payment online by Dec. 18.** [We will provide the payment link upon receipt of the waiver form.]  \nHow their Equipment Rental works: For those taking advantage of Pleasant Mountain’s excellent and easy Rental program\, once the paperwork is filled out and gear assigned on Day 1\, that same gear will be pulled out\, set up by the Pleasant Mountain Rental Shop with your child’s name on it\, adjusted\, and waiting for your arrival each Wednesday. It’s easy for the kids to pick up their own rental at Pleasant Mountain after their first day\, and rentals are returned to the rental office at the end of each ski day. There’ll be an Online Rental Registration weblink.  \nEquipment: If your beginner or novice child is without gear\, ask around as our Peaks community has a good stash of school-sized ski and board equipment. Play It Again is a good source\, and many local ski shops offer a season long rental for our kids. We cannot offer a formal carpool program\, but encourage people to make their own arrangements if they’d like to share driving with other participants in the program. Pleasant Mountain is open until nearly 9:00 pm\, but many of us try to catch the 7:15 pm CBL return to Peaks by leaving Pleasant Mountain around 5:30 pm. It’s important to ensure our kids can keep their eyes open in school on Thursday\, but older kids often take a later boat home. There is an option to register for all 4 days of camp or select 2 days of camp; please choose the appropriate camp schedule and age group for your child from the registration options below. \n\nGrades\nPre-K through 5th\n\nDates\nTuesday 4/21/26 – Friday 4/24/26 \nLocation\nPeaks Island Community Center \nHours & Tuition\n8:00am – 5:00pm\n$250 per child for 4 days of camp\n$125 per child for 2 days of camp \n\nWhat to Expect Each Day\n– Nature-based adventures at different locations around the island\, including the school playground\, the ball field\, the woods\, and beaches\n– Reading and games at the library\n– Themed craft activities\n– Dedicated time for snacks and lunch\n– Choice time + free play time \nHow to Prepare for Each Day\nEach participant should arrive to camp with the following:\n– A full water bottle\n– A packed lunch plus two snacks\n– Appropriate outerwear\, including gear for wet\, muddy\, rainy\, or snowy weather\n– A separate pair of shoes for wearing indoors (sneakers\, slippers\, or Crocs are okay)\n– A clean change of clothes\, including socks and underwear \nSome additional snacks will be provided but all children should come prepared with at least two snacks that are separate from their lunch.\nImportant Notes\nRegistration\nPlease register your child below in the correct age group. Camp participants will be together throughout the week but some activities will be planned by age group. Please also note you can select 4 days of camp or 2 days of camp for your child. \nWe need 8 children to register for each day by Friday\, April 10\, in order for this program to run. \nOutstanding Balances\nParticipants with unpaid balances for past programs (including Before & After the Bell\, field trips\, vacation weeks\, or summer camps) are not eligible to register. Any registrations made with an unpaid balance will be automatically canceled.\n\nWithdrawals\nIf you withdraw before the first day\, a $25 withdrawal fee per child per day will be deducted from your refund. There will be no refunds once the program has started
