Reta Morrill’s 90th Birthday at Greenwood Gardens
Thursday, July 1st, 2021 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM
Food! potluck – please bring a dish, snack or tasty treat to share with
your neighbors. (put your name on your serving dishes!)
Music! by our own Peaks Island musicians.
Special Thanks to Greenwood Gardens, offered by our Lions Club; Mike Richards and friends for music; each of us for food and drink; Susan Hanley for posters; and Reta and friends for memories.
Reta is a fifth-generation islander, born on Peaks. Her Trefethen
ancestors moved from Monhegan Island to House Island, and then to
Peaks Island. Her parents ran the Peaks Island Garage in the 1930s,
where she still remembers the Old Town canoe tucked up in the beams.
Growing up, she watched her great uncle Henry Trefethen cutting,
harvesting & storing ice from the Ice Pond for island hotels and cottages.
Reta co-authored A Glimpse of Peaks, and Peaks Island Revisited.
Bring us a question about an older or historical Peaks Island life, community or event – please write it down on a piece of paper and give it to Roxanne Bailey or Tom Bergh – or send it in an email. We’ll see if Reta will provide us with her perspective or memory for a few of ‘em.
For questions, suggestions, offers in support: contact Roxanne 617.922.0889 or Tom 207.232.6733, email@example.com.
Let us know if you need a ride to the party!
