The Peaks Island Land Preserve is committed to the acquisition, preservation and stewardship in perpetuity of Peaks Island lands for the use and enjoyment of islanders and visitors.
Before you visit
We encourage you to explore our conservation areas, and would like to offer some tips before you visit, including advice on getting to Peaks from Portland and accessing restrooms and other amenities on the Island. You can see our guidelines at a glance below.
- Camping is prohibited on all PILP properties
- Fires are prohibited on all PILP properties
- Trails are not accessible
- Cell reception can be spotty
- Motorized vehicles are prohibited on all PILP properties
- There are three public bathrooms on the island, plan ahead
